A great look into this mysterious nationReviewed by Clara G., 2009-11-18
China has always interested me, but I had never had the opportunity
to travel there. I will do some traveling in the next 5 years, and
I got the book to get a feel for what the country is like.
The book is divided by sections covering China's different regions,
with it diverse groups of people and culture.
This book gives you a lot of information with great photos. You
really get an insight into the mind of the Chinese culture. This
book is the one to get to get a comprehensive look into this
mysterious nation, and now I feel more prepared and even more eager
to go on my trip!
dk eyewitness' ChinaReviewed by Christine Mason, 2009-11-11
I have this book China by Dk Eyewitness which I love them (DK) because they are all about the images. This book touches on the history of China with a timeline, gives profiles of different people&their jobs in China, shows China's olympic victory, as well as art and literature. Just like it says on the front cover People, place, culture, history. If your having second thoughts. Don't. This visual and informative book is money well spent!
Chinese character is one of the most element of Chinese cultureReviewed by ! Aesop - Sam SONG, 2009-09-30
This is a well written book with a few beautiful photos. All my
friends love to read it.
This book is about China's People, Place, Culture, and
History.
We all know Chinese character is one of the most important element
of Chinese culture. It would be better if this book does contain a
good introdution with sufficient information about "Chinese
characters."
(I would like to give this book "5 stars." But in order to let
people see my view, I give this book "4 stars.")

Perfect Companion to China RoadReviewed by Donald F. Keener, 2009-07-09
I purchased this book along with Rob Gifford's China Road thinking it would provide another, perhaps more academic view of Chinese history and their present situation. It turned out to be a pleasure in a different way. It is a big, beautiful book filled with photography of the country. It complements the road traveled by Gifford, not academically but artistically, supplementing my imagination for viewing the country and its people.
A Must-see Trip throughout ChinaReviewed by Nancy A. Ferguson, 2009-02-20
This book is a wonderful review of the many different regions of China. Beautiful illustrations make you want to look at the book over and over again.
